Years of experience

The company was founded in 2003 by Andy Ormston. After joining the Royal Air Force Andy benefitted from eleven years of military training and experience in a variety of roles. These included working as a medic in some of the largest RAF medical centres, and deployment worldwide as a Field Medic where he was awarded the Joint Coalition Commanders Commendation for medical services to the Armed Forces in the Middle East in support of operations . In 1996 he joined the NHS Ambulance Service where he qualified as a Paramedic, and then a Paramedic Training Officer, later qualifying as a Clinical Lecturer and Emergency Care Practitioner. He has been awarded finalist in the Wiltshire Business person of the Year 2011 awards, with the company scooping two other categories - Staff and Customer care, and Business of the Year.

In 2003 AM Medical Services (South) Ltd was approved by the Health & Safety Executive to provide first aid training and issue our own certificates for First Aid at Work courses. Shortly afterwards the company was approved by the Pre-School Learning Alliance and National Child Minding Associations to deliver Paediatric First Aid courses.

In 2004 the company achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification and we still use these stringent management structures and systems. In 2011 we were approved and registered by the Care Quality Commission.

Consistently reliable performance

The company’s rigorous approach and high professional standards has enabled it to reach the finals of the Wiltshire Business of the Year Awards in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. 2011 . The management team have also written numerous editorials for many business publications, whilst our staff have delivered First Aid and other courses in numerous organisations including large national companies, SME's, NHS Trusts, Councils, schools and colleges.

We have trainers and clinical staff across the UK all of whom are trained to a very high standard. All of these individuals are CRB checked, and undergo our rigorous induction process covering equality and diversity, mental health awareness, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, infection control, manual handling and clinical governance. The company is also well insured and makes extensive use of state of the art technology. We also have CQC Registered managers on our staff giving further appreciation of what you require.
